Road Trip!

" For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace;the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and the trees of the fields shall clap their hands...and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off." - Isaiah 55:12&13

There is nothing like being in complete and utter serenity. Knowing that you have no responsibility other than to relax and take on as many adventures as you can. To feel the rain sprinkle your dirty skin softly as you walk to play in the icy river, to hear the mighty wind blow through the trees and rattle your tent as you fall asleep, or to feel the cool morning dew on your sandals and toes as you walk through the forest...It's such a joy to be alive and experience God's creation in such a sensory way. To feel the silky wind blow your hair gently across the air as you master an 800 ft. cliff, to feel the brisk water rush over your ankles as you bask in the rivers, to feel the hot fire warm your skin as the scent of toasted marshmallows fills the air, to feel your stomach as you drive through the lush green mountains, or to hear the sound of your bike click lightly in the dusk as you ride through the trails and forests...It's an adventure. It's all an unforgettable adventure.
Hanging out for hours in complete submission to the Father, as creation fulfills its duty...
It's all an adventure; sleeping in tents, exploring unknown trails, cliffs and caves, blisters and scrapes, rivers and lakes. Even washing our clothes in a random laundry mat and going to get them in the morning, cooking by flashlight, having little to no money, seeing new people and places, taking a bike rack to the head and getting scared out of my pants by the boys. Saying " stop Karl!" more than ever in my life, having hairier arm pits than any girl should ever have, laughing until we throw up, getting in trouble with the park rangers forplaying with air soft guns in a state park, and visiting all the " taste testing rooms" we can. It is all an unforgettable adventure...
Hanging out for hours in complete submission to the Father, as all of creation makes a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

Better than Anti-Depressants

What is the deal? Why don't doctors prescribe bundles of flowers and reading books on your porch ( sorry I am from the south, patio) listening to the sound of rain falling on the patio roof to stressed patients?
My Nana took me shopping this weekend, no, not for clothes and accessories, but for FLOWERS! I know, it was great. I couldn't wait to get home to plant them all and decorate my patio with them. As we walked through Calloways I couldn't help but praise God for all of the diverse and beautiful flowers that He created for His glory and my enjoyment! From Gerber Daisy's to Aloe Vera plants, they were all fragrantly gorgeous!
After shopping we did some laundry and I headed home to plant! It was so much fun acting like I have a green thumb. I think I did alright though.(Pictures below)It's amazing how flowers make you exuberantly happy just looking at them!! I love flowers.
Last night Ashley and I sat out on the patio and read Esther while listening to the slow, steady fall of rain on the roof. It was wonderful and very relaxing. Next time you're feeling a little down or stressed, grab a book, turn on the rain, and sit on the patio near some flowers!
